Research Overview

Dr. Press' primary research interest is in the area of genetic alterations related to breast and gynecologic cancers. He is most interested in changes in these malignancies that lead to altered expression of oncogenes, growth factors, and growth factor receptors. Some alterations, such as amplification and overexpression of the HER-2/neu oncogene, have been correlated with reduced patient survival and responsiveness to HER2-targeted therapeutic agents in clinical trials.
